Zakat
As an Islamic institution, Haneefiya America supports the local community by collecting and disbursing
Zakat ul Maal to in-need Muslim community members.
How Much Zakat Do I Owe?
Zakat is payable at 2.5% of the wealth one possesses above the nisab. *The Nisab established by Prophet SAWS was 20 gold dinars (87.48 gm) or 200 silver dirhams (612.36 gm). The scholars have given fatwas regarding the permissibility of using either one. Depending upon which standard you use, your Nisab threshold will be higher or lower.
Giving Zakat
Zakat-ul-maal can be submitted to Haneefiya America in the form of cash, check or online payment.

Marriage
Send an email to info@hneefiya.org to check for the availability of marriage officiants
Obtain a marriage license from the local county courthouse. A marriage license is mandatory from the county.

Provide information about two witnesses and ensure their presence during the Islamic ceremony.

Funeral
Haneefiya America stands by to serve our community in times of grief. We offer our sincere condolences to you and your family, and we aim to make the Janazah process as smooth as possible for you in your time of need.
We offer complete supervision of the entire burial process listed below:

Shahada
Shahada can be scheduled after Friday prayer or during Friday evening prayers. In addition, a new Muslim will be contacted before their Shahada to go over the process, answer any questions they may have, and make sure that they are completely comfortable.

Family Counseling
Haneefiya America provides counseling services for free. These services are available for individuals and couples who are experiencing difficulties in their lives and they include individual, family, youth, marriage, separation and divorce resolution, and abuse crisis intervention.

Food Assistance
Haneefiya America provides Food Assistance through its food distribution program throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. Our goal is to provide food to our community members who are in need. Our Muslim faith teaches us to take care of the hungry, sick, travelers and the deprived.
